Cookies

Last updated: 23 September 2026

A cookie is a small piece of text a website asks your browser to keep. Travel Planner uses as few as it can, and none of them tries to follow you across other websites on our behalf. Here is the full list, what each one is for, and how long it stays.

Cookies we cannot work without

Your sign-in session (tp_session). It holds a random token — never your email, never your password — and it is what keeps you logged in from one page to the next. It lasts 30 days and is renewed as you use the site; signing out deletes it immediately.

Your language (lang). It remembers that you chose English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese or Chinese, so every page comes back in that language. It lasts one year and contains nothing but the two-letter code.

An anonymous identifier (tp_anon). Visitors without an account get three free searches a day. Counting them requires telling one browser from another, which this random identifier does — it is tied to no name, no email and no account. It lasts up to 400 days.

A private-preview key (tp_preview), only while the site is closed to the public: it simply records that the preview password was entered correctly.

Advertising: no cookie, no third-party script

The ads shown to visitors who are not subscribers are our own: HTML cards served by Travel Planner, with no ad network, no third-party script, no cookie and no tracker. As long as you do not click, nothing is written to or read from your device, and no partner knows you are here. All we count is a daily total — the ad, the slot, the language — of how many times an ad was shown and how many times it was clicked, with no IP address and no identifier.

If you click an ad, you leave Travel Planner for the partner's own website, which applies its own cookies and its own privacy policy; if it sells you something, a commission may come to us. Subscribers see no advertising at all.

One cookie belongs to this side of things: arriving through a sponsor link (travel-planner.world/r/…) is only counted — a small banner then asks whether you want to support the sponsor whose link you followed. Only if you click “Yes” is a cookie set: tp_sponsor_ok remembers that sponsor's code for 90 days, so that we can share part of what the service earns with them. If you decline or ignore the banner, nothing is recorded. It holds nothing about you, and it changes neither what you see nor what you pay; you can withdraw at any time by deleting this site's cookies from your browser.

The anti-robot check (Cloudflare Turnstile)

When it is switched on, a discreet check by Cloudflare Turnstile makes sure that searches are launched by people, not robots. It runs when you reach the last two questions of the search form, unless you are a subscriber, and usually stays invisible: a box only appears if Cloudflare has a doubt.

It runs in a frame served by Cloudflare, Inc. According to Cloudflare's documentation, Turnstile relies on cookies and local storage in your browser to maintain the state of the check and track visitor behaviour, and it may fail if they cannot persist. They are set and read by Cloudflare, not by Travel Planner. Cloudflare describes the signals Turnstile collects as strictly necessary to detect and block robots, and states that they are not collected to identify, profile or target anyone. Details in Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum (cloudflare.com/turnstile-privacy-policy) and in our privacy policy.

What we never do

No cookie on this site sells or shares your trip searches. We do not run third-party analytics trackers, and we never store a payment card: payments go through Stripe, on Stripe's own pages.

Staying in control of cookies

There is no advertising consent to manage on this site: no advertisement here sets a cookie, and no consent platform is loaded. The cookies above can be deleted at any time from your browser settings, which also let you block cookies entirely; the site will keep working, but you will be signed out and your language will go back to English.
