Privacy policy

Travel Planner builds its proposals from open data. Every source is credited below, with its licence.

Weather statistics (rainy days and temperatures for your travel dates): Meteostat (meteostat.net), licensed under CC BY 4.0, from data supplied by the original providers: national meteorological services, notably through NOAA (Integrated Surface Database, GHCN-Daily) and aerodrome weather reports (METAR); model values filling observation gaps come from MET Norway and Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD). Travel Planner aggregates these daily records into multi-year statistics (changes were made).

Maps and geocoding: map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL). Maps are rendered with MapLibre GL from OpenFreeMap vector tiles (openfreemap.org), and place search uses the Photon geocoder operated by Komoot (photon.komoot.io), itself built on OpenStreetMap data.

Geographic data: GeoNames (www.geonames.org), licensed under CC BY 4.0, and OurAirports (ourairports.com), public domain.

Cost of living: the country indices used to adjust our on-site budget estimates come from Eurostat (ec.europa.eu/eurostat) and the World Bank (data.worldbank.org). They are indices, never a quoted price.

Affiliate links: some booking links shown in our proposals are partner links. If you book through one of them, Travel Planner may receive a commission from the travel provider, at no extra cost to you. This never changes the price you pay, and never determines which destinations are proposed to you.

How we handle personal data is described in our privacy policy. Data is hosted in the European Union (Paris region).
